mybrokenshelf requires all listed practitioners to attest that they do not practice, recommend, or refer clients to sexual orientation or gender identity change efforts (SOCE), sometimes called “conversion therapy” or “reparative therapy.” This includes any approach that treats a client’s sexual orientation or gender identity as a disorder to be cured. This attestation is the foundational safety mechanism of this directory.
